A hilarious trip through some of the highs and lows in British history will be performed in Clevedon next month, and the Mercury has tickets to see it up for grabs.

Parlour Games will be at Theatre Shop in Clevedon on October 5 and 6. The show, created and performed by Sharp Teeth Theatre, will explore politics, royalty and passion – with a comedic twist.

Set in mid-19th century England, Parlour Games is a two-man production starring clown Lucy Harrington as Prince Albert and 6ft 3ins Peter Baker as Queen Victoria.

A Theatre Orchard spokesman said: “It is 1848 and Europe is revolting. As foreign royals topple at an alarming rate, how long will it be before the whispers of revolution reach the proud shores of old Blighty?

“With an isolated, postnatal Queen intent on playing solitaire, can the future of the British monarchy be saved before those dastardly working classes start uprising or will it all end in a real-life wink murder?
