Lots of laughs are expected in Wrington next week.

Members of Wrington Drama Club have been rehearsing over recent weeks ahead of their spring production, An Evening Of Comedy.

The show features three one-act plays, penned by the best scriptwriters.

Alan Ayckbourn’s masterful Between Mouthfuls, directed by debutant director Christine Parnham, is a fate-fraught and unwelcome encounter between two couples at a restaurant as overheard by the attentively busy waiter.

She is also directing Pam Valentine’s Alternative Accommodation which focuses on recently-widowed Anna visiting her middle-age children when she has to sell the family home.

Mark Bullen will direct the final act – Properly Processed by Lynn Brittney. The satirical production compares modern bureaucracy and the afterlife.

The plays will be performed from May 16-19 at the memorial hall.

Tickets, priced £5-9, are available from Buglers and Amors in the village.
