WORLEWIND BAND: As always the band promises to entertain its audience and September 1 in Grove Park will be no exception.

The band has been busy rehearsing some great new music and some will be shared at this event so make sure you are there at 2.30 until 4.30pm near the bandstand.

WESTON CIVIL SERVICE RETIREMENT 
FELLOWSHIP: The fellowship meets on the first and third Thursday mornings at The Friends Meeting House, High Street, Weston.

Our next outing is on September 10 to Henley on Thames with tea on the way home at Stoke Row (Maharajahs Well).

All retired civil servants are welcome to join us and for further information please call chairman Alan on 01275 858766.

UNISON NORTH SOMERSET BRANCH RETIRED MEMBERS SECTION: The Unison North Somerset Branch is holding a lunch at The Windsor Castle public house, Weston, on September 24 at 12.45 for 1pm sit down.

Members who wish to attend and have not replied as yet should contact Ollie Pratlett on 01934 627508 as soon as possible.

There will be no meetings for the time being at the Town Hall due to lack of response and support.

WESTON aND DISTRICT NATIONAL TRUST 
ASSOCIATION: The trust is holding its first indoor meeting of the autumn on September 5 at 2.15pm when the speaker will be Darren Jenkins with a talk called ‘Owls - up close and personal’.

An evening meeting also at Corpus Christi Church hall is on September 27 at 7.30pm with John Dando telling us about the history of traditional jazz.

Visitors are always welcome at these talks but why not become a member?

Membership of the association costs £5 yearly and as well as these meetings there is an annual holiday, outings to National Trust properties and other places of interest, social events such as skittles, quizzes, a spring and autumn lunch, valuation day and cream teas.

RAFA CONCERT BAND - BLAKEHAY RESIDENT BAND: Last Saturday the band played at the 999 Day event staged on the Beach Lawns. The weather did try to spoil the proceeding, however our rescue services along with the band managed to stave off the rain and wind until almost the close of the event.

No rehearsals now until September 2.

New players are still coming along to the band but we are still looking for more on brass, woodwind and tuned percussion.

NFOP BRANCH 341: Come to our coffee morning on August 29 at 10.15am to noon at the Crossroads Carers Centre in Graham Road, Weston.

WESTON CONSERVATIVE CLUB: Jodie Payne will be entertaining this Saturday night from 9pm to midnight. There will be bingo called at 10pm and the new bottle draw. On Bank Holiday Monday Ravel entertains us again with a large bottle draw, bingo and a free buffet from the committee as a thank you for your continued support.

Lucky boxes star prize stands at £140 and will be drawn on Sunday at 1pm.

Places are still available for the Barnstaple trip on August 31 with a fish and chip supper back at the club and entertainment.

Also those wishing to go to Bournemouth for Turkey and Tinsel have until end of September to get your names on the list.

49 CLUB: The club is pleased to announce that on Sunday the singer Roy Charles will be entertaining us from 8.30pm til late.
