EVERY week I look forward to reading the Mercury. It is newsworthy and interesting, but week after week I get irritated on two accounts and think to myself: Am I turning into a 'Grumpy Old Man'? Where people will not identify themselves by signing 'Nam

EVERY week I look forward to reading the Mercury. It is newsworthy and interesting, but week after week I get irritated on two accounts and think to myself: Am I turning into a 'Grumpy Old Man'? Where people will not identify themselves by signing 'Name and address supplied'. That does not give me much chance to reply to them in person to give supportive views or otherwise. Our elected councillors using the Mercury to contradict each other's policies and views. I would prefer it if they settled their differences in a truly democratic way within the council chamber and let your reporters write an accurate account about how the meetings were conducted, the dialogue between the opposing factors and the voting procedures decided upon.ROBERT ALLAMLinks Road, Uphill
