I AM writing about the withdrawal of the jigsaws at Weston Library. When I spoke to members of staff I was told they are sorry to see them go and they have had numerous complaints about it. A reason of lack of space has been given. Surely a couple of shelves of jigsaws cannot take up too much room in such a large library. Also I cannot imagine it would take up too much time to book in and out a few jigsaws. Staff time can be kept to a minimum providing people know there are no guarantees all the pieces will be there. I agree we need to move forward with new technology like computers, but we also need to remember the jigsaw puzzle has given many people hours of fun. I seldom see jigsaws in charity shops, and these sentiments are echoed by friends of mine who work in these shops. I wouldn't mind paying a small fee for this service.NAME AND ADDRESS SUPPLIED
