I write in response to your article in the North Somerset Times, 'Open up the Tip Urgently'.I most definitely consider that North Somerset Council has been dragging its heels on the question of the civic amenity tip in Valley Road, Portishead. They should have obtained quotations for the work on the rock face immediately the tip closed in April so that work could have commenced as soon as the birds had flown and the tip could have been re-opened by now. Please keep the pressure on North Somerset Council to get the tip opened as a matter of urgency, otherwise they are going to have to do a big cleaning up operation to clear all the rubbish which is now being tipped around the countryside.J M Jones-Cox - Down Road, Portishead
