I AM delighted the new police sector inspector is to target drug crime to make the people of Weston feel safe and be safe. He is to deal with drug addicts from outside the area, who have dropped out of treatment programmes, and those who supply them. In his campaign to reduce the burglaries and vehicle crimes these people are responsible for, perhaps Insp Yan Georgiou could help get to the root of the problem. Addicts should not be brought into the town for treatment unless they are to be offered something that will really cure them of their addiction. If they are unable to keep up with the treatment, they should be sent home for evaluation for treatment elsewhere. If they successfully complete their treatment, they should again be returned home to live useful lives in their communities. Thus those skilled in rehabilitation in our town will be providing the service they set up in business for and those who are not will be able to apply their skills elsewhere.CLLR MIKE KELLAWAY-MARRIOTTCentral Ward, Weston
