I WISH to exercise my right of reply to letters printed on last week's Opinion Page.Firstly, I was elected to help all the people of Milton and Old Worle, whether they voted for a party member or not. I have always helped and always will do, regardless of anyone's patronage to a political party.Also, thank you to all the members of the public who have kindly e-mailed and telephoned me in support and understanding for standing up for what I believe is right. These have been from people from all walks of life and, may I add political affiliation.Finally, to the president of the Liberal Democrats, by writing to the press, you have only endorsed the fact I was used, and continue to be used as a football in your political games. My reason for leaving the party is as stated many times. I was not happy with decisions that were being made by the Liberal Democrat party, both locally and nationally and felt they were being made without the due process of care.I remain true to my life's work of helping others, and that will never change.
