IT IS good that the incident regarding the plaster on the finger has been resolved, with the use of hypo-allergenic plasters, so that the risk of allergic reaction is minimised. I felt it was interesting subsequently to read in the daily papers that in future every primary and secondary school will be attended by a nurse, who will be able to hand our contraceptives, including the 'morning-after' pill and condoms, and will arrange pregnancy tests and abortions, without their parents' knowledge or agreement! For example, last year alone it appears 2,400 girls aged 13 and under were given the 'morning-after' pill. Who knows what effect such powerful hormones are having on girls of this age. This all seems to be very inconsistent and illogical and much more damaging than a sticking plaster. Surely there must be better ways of caring for our young people and of guiding and teaching them to care for themselves. R HINVES - Ewart Road, Weston
