FOR those listening to BBC Radio Bristol Morning West programme regarding the recorded interview I had with their reporter Tom Burridge yesterday, I would like to emphasise that my comments and views were directed towards the complete success of the sea defences installed in Uphill village and the subsequent refurbishment of the sluice gates following the dreadful flood in our village on December 13, 1981.I would like to make it quite clear that I fully support the views of the hotelier and shopkeeper in the seafront area of Knightstone in Weston who clearly indicated that there is an urgent need to protect that area from yet more serious flood damage at any time in the future.ROBERT ALLAM - Links Road, Uphill
