Regarding the article on page 3, June 14 of the North Somerset Times.Cyclists are not allowed to ride on walkways. I have not heard this law has been relaxed. Therefore, why is it that adults as well as children rode on pavements with speed and no case or consideration for pedestrians, even in shopping areas. Most accidents happen at the junction of lanes backing houses. Within minutes I was almost knocked down three times in lanes and a walkway on route to the bus.My two friends have been knocked to the ground in Worle and taken to hospital.Like myself, they are elderly. Throughout Great Britain these accidents are wasting medics valuable time and NHS money.I hope Mr Hunter will campaign for safer conditions for pedestrians.Due to the amount of traffic, cycle tracks are needed and cyclists need to ride with care and respect for all.The cyclist which collided with Joy Tucker should be ashamed to know he has not given his identity.Name and address supplied
