REGARDING the report in the Weston & Somerset Mercury (August 18) headlined: 'Prize-winning loos go down the pan', I see the proposed changes are at the insistence of the sub-contractor. How dare the council take such action without taking into account the views of the residents. perhaps it's not surprising, as this seems to be the way the council always operates. The loos are a feature of the town, gaining much admiration from both locals and visitors. They are a model of cleanliness and remind us of our heritage, particularly with regards to wartime.HAROLD JAMES - Upper Church Road, Weston
