WHEN can we expect to see the railings replaced at the top of Birkett Road by the old pier? Some 12 weeks ago the road was closed for nearly three weeks to do this work, or so we thought. The only work done was to remove the old railings and put them in a pile nearby. Surely replacing these railings should take priority on such a dangerous bend.A wire netting screen has been in place all this time offering little protection if an accident occurred. There is nothing to stop someone plummeting over the wall onto the rocks below.Pedestrians do not know whether to walk behind the wire, or in front as I have seen, actually in the road. It is a very hazardous corner at the best of times with double-decker buses frequenting the route.Whatever the excuse, it is unacceptable to leave the work unfinished for this length of time.S M PAGE - Trawden Close, Weston
