The closure of the civic amenity site at Portishead sounds like a con trick to me.We've had tales of a dangerous rock face, peregrine falcons, bats.All we want now are some fairies flying around and that's the lot.The council is very lucky that people haven't dumped their rubbish outside the gates - I have felt like doing it I must admit at times.It is the duty of the council to open up this place as quickly as possible and stop making all these weak excuses.R Salter - Charlcombe Park, Down Road, Portishead
