MY WIFE and I attended two local school Christmas festivals to watch our grandchildren take part. We were very impressed by their high standards, and the efforts put in by the pupils and their teachers. But what a contrast in venues.Broadoak has a modern building and facilities, fitting for the 21st century, but poor old Uphill Primary School is struggling in a hall neither big enough nor equipped to accommodate any sizeable school event. It is a tribute to the staff and children that they carry on regardless of their poor surroundings. Come on, North Somerset, give our children a building which is modern, warm and big enough to cope.JOHN CARTERAddicott Road, Weston
