HUNDREDS of art students will get to showcase their work for the first time at a Summer Show in Weston next week

HUNDREDS of art students will get to showcase their work for the first time at a Summer Show in Weston next week.Weston school children will get free transport to the event to see displays by Weston College degree and further education students at their annual exhibition. More than 300 students will be showcasing artwork ranging from fine art to internet websites.Visitor numbers, it is hoped, will exceed the thousands who attended last year.Anthony Murray, Head of Creative Arts at Weston, said: "There are some exciting pieces of the work this year - without a doubt this is the biggest art show held in North Somerset".The show takes place at both the Westcliff site on Kewstoke Road and the School of Art at the Knightstone Road and will open to the general public from Wednesday, June 21 and Wednesday June 28 from 10am-4pm on weekdays only.A VIP preview will take place on Tuesday, June 20 from 6-9pm where live music will accompany students' artwork.
