A new season of singing and performing began this week for Burnham and Highbridge’s choral society, and you could be a part of it.

The mixed choir meets on Thursday evenings from September to May at 7.30pm in the Methodist Church Hall, in College Street.

There are no auditions to join but the group needs members as it begins to work towards its Christmas concert on December 13.

Organiser Julie Skinner said: “We are a friendly group of people of various ages who enjoy singing different types of choral music which, as our repertoire grows, will include more modern pieces.

“We will be learning music from composers such as Johann Sebastian Bach and George Frideric Handel with the aid of our talented musical director Nicholas Bromilow.”
