Semi-imagined Somerset scenes will feature in an exhibition of work by a Weston-super-Mare artist.

Chris Holman loosely bases his paintings on Somerset locations, and are intended as a retreat into fictional, idealistic scenes.

He taught at Weston College for 25 years, and helps with a long-running life drawing class.

The show, at LT Gallery, will feature oil paintings and drawings, and much of the work will not have been shown in public before.

His exhibition at the gallery, in Orchard Street, will run from until April 3, with a drinks event on Saturday from 5-8pm.

The gallery is open on Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 10am-4pm, and Thursdays from noon to 7pm.

He will give a talk on the endurance of landscape painting at Weston Museum, in Burlington Street, on Wednesday from 6-8pm. Entry is £5.
