LT Gallery, in Orchard Street, is showcasing works by Mari Em, who creates human sculptures.

The exhibition is called Ripped Art, and is available to view until Tuesday.

Mari said: “The sculptures I make convey an image of violence and menace.

“On the other hand they show sadness, vulnerability, presence of living death, burnt out and corrupted.

“My work is based on feelings – not to do with the objects themselves.

“I am attempting to create sculptures which have a psychological truth, rather than physical bodies as an end result.”

Mari does not plan what she is going to make before she starts, and often completes the work in just a few hours or a day.

Ripped Apart is available to view on Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays from noon to 4pm, and Thursdays from noon to 7pm.
