A beer festival will be held in Portishead next week.

The Redcliffe Bay Beer Festival has become an annual tradition in the town and the drinks are expected to flow on Friday and Saturday evenings.

Organiser Ian Looker said: "A variety of quality real ales will be on tap including some of the latest brews from around our region.

"Local cider, soft drinks, crisps and filled rolls will also be available."

While the primary motive of the festival is to have a good time and enjoy the ales, there is a serious side to the event too.

Money collected through ticket sales will be donated to Children's Hospice South West, which runs Charlton Farm in Wraxall, to help children with terminal illnesses, and their families.

The festival will be held at Redcliffe Bay Hall, in Newhaven Road, from 7-11pm.

Tickets, priced £6, are available to buy from Ian on 07741 419926 and Carey's Home and Garden, in High Street.
