With the Bristol International Balloon Fiesta almost ready to take the West Country by storm again, have you ever wanted to know what it is like to fly one?
The Mercury was given the incredible opportunity to take to the sky last week in a Thatchers balloon courtesy of First Flight in Langford.
It was one of several balloons which lifted off from Ashton Court, making the small yet spectacular journey over the Avon Gorge, before touching down at The Downs in Bristol.
Thousands of people are expected to head to Long Ashton to enjoy this year’s event, with the usual mix of mass ascents and nightglows plus entertainment sure to wow the large crowds.
