SOMERSET music legends The Wurzels will headline an action-packed festival taking place on Weston's Beach Lawns this weekend.

Weston Community Festival takes place on both Saturday and Sunday, and features a host of local performers in addition to the scrumpy and western stars.

TV star Keith Chegwin will compere an It’s A Knockout challenge on the Saturday, too, with dozens of Weston companies and organisations set to take part.

Children’s charity Kids ‘n’ Cancer is set to benefit from the event, with daytime spectators paying 50p to attend, and evening music tickets available at £5.

Keith said: “I feel really honoured to have been asked to come to Weston Community Festival and host the It’s A Knockout challenge.

“It will be a fantastic day for all those participating and spectators too.”

Any last-minute teams looking to enter the It’s A Knockout challenge, or those wishing to book Wurzels tickets, should log on to www.vevaevents.co.uk or call 07759 932738 to book.

The event will run from 10.30am until 10pm on Saturday, and from 11am-6pm on Sunday.
