THERE will be laughs aplenty as The Comedy Club returns to Esporta in Weston on Saturday.

As part of the Locking Road venue’s live stand-up special three comedians will be onstage wringing out every last laugh, while there will be a bar and waitress service throughout.

The host for the evening, Nik Coppin, is a regular on the UK comedy circuit and has performed in many European countries while he has also performed as far afield as New Zealand and Australia.

His confident, affable and energetic style is quick to build audience rapport as he talks about subjects as wide-ranging as observations on human nature, his experiences in the Antipodes, his knowledge of wildlife, current affairs and his mixed-race childhood in London.

Opening comedian Karen Bayley has appeared in the BBC New Comedy Award semi-final and honed her skills at her own club in Sutton Coldfield before turning her hand to travelling the country.

She gained glowing reviews following performances at the Edinburgh Festival and will bring her well-honed act to open the proceedings at Esporta.

Headlining for the night is comedian, actor and writer Barry Castagnola with his easy-going style, mixing personal anecdotes with sharp topical and political comment.

Barry is a regular headliner across the country and has performed at both the Glastonbury and Reading festivals, as well as The
Melbourne Comedy Festival.

Tickets for the event, which starts at 8.30pm, are priced £10-£15, and are available from the box office on 01934 410350 or
