WESTON’S Grand Pier will become a hub of laughter as some of the country’s best live stand-up comedians perform within its walls.

Weston-super-Mare Comedy Grove will launch at the venue on October 24, with performances from Joanna Neary, James Dowdeswell and headliner Stephen Carlin.

Scottish comedian Carlin is known for his off-the-wall references and in-depth but hilarious knowledge of international snooker.

Joanna Neary has worked on That Mitchell And Webb Look and alongside hid comedian Johnny Vegas.

James Dowdeswell is a storytelling comedian who has appeared on Russell Howard’s Good News and is friends with 8 Out Of 10 Cats star Jimmy Carr.

The pier’s general manager Paul Charalambous said: “We are delighted to welcome such talented acts from the world of comedy to the pier. We are certain our pavilion will be bursting at the seams with laughter, and hope Weston Comedy Grove becomes a firm hit.”

The first Weston Comedy Grove will take place on October 24 and is for over-16s only. Doors will open at 7pm and the show will begin at 8pm.

Tickets, priced £10, are available online via www.grandpier.co.uk
