A WESTON dancer is returning to her hometown for an exciting evening of jazz dance on June 28.Having spent three years in London working with some of the best choreographers and dance tutors in Britain, Ella Worthington, originally from Weston, will appear at The Playhouse with other students from The Jazz Dance Company.The vibrant young company provides dance students with performing and touring experience and will present a lively programme showcasing a host of jazz dance styles, ranging from modern street dance and the rhythmic complexity of tap, to the sensual lyricism of contemporary jazz.The dancers have been trained in techniques of ballet, jazz, tap, contemporary dance, singing and drama. Many members of the company have had extensive professional experience in commercial theatre and graduate students have appeared in such West End shows as Cats, Saturday Night Fever, Fosse, West Side Story, Fame and Starlight Express.A host of leading choreographers are involved with the show, including David Leighton and Paul Roberts, who have worked with Robbie Williams and Diana Ross, and Kevin Allen, who has been hired by Kylie Minogue and Jools Holland.Tickets, priced from £8-11, are available by calling the box office on 01934 645544.
