THE stars and stripes will be flying high this weekend when one of Europe's largest aviation events takes place.The Royal International Air Tattoo will take place in Fairford on Saturday and Sunday.The show, which will this year pay tribute to the United States' Air Force in its 60th year, will feature a wide range of aircraft including B-52s and C-17s, as well as historic planes such as a P-51 Mustang and the Harvard.There will be displays from stealth fighters, the Red Arrows and the Thunderbirds aerobatics display team, which is based in Nevada.Viewers will be able to watch breathtaking action in a special arena and will also be able to see battling robots, stunt car driving, karting and record-breaking bikes.Visitors on Saturday will also have the opportunity to meet Formula One racing driver Jenson Button and have their photograph taken with him.Legendary American motor cars from the 1950s to the present day will also be on show.During the last two years the Royal International Air Tattoo has raised more than £500,000 for the Royal Air Force Charitable Trust.Tickets are priced £32.50 in advance or £37.50 on the day.
