FOLLOWING the September 11 attacks on the United States, a decade-long hunt began for Osama bin Laden, the head of the Islamist militant group al-Qaeda.
Zero Dark Thirty (15) reunites the Oscar-winning team of director-producer Kathryn Bigelow and writer-producer Mark Boal (The Hurt Locker) for the story of history’s greatest manhunt for the world’s most dangerous man.
The movie follows the efforts of top secret CIA intelligence forces, who rented a home in Abbottabad in Pakistan, near the compound where bin Laden was believed to be in hiding.
The official codename of the mission was Operation Neptune Spear and on May 2, 2011, a special force of Navy Seals carried out a raid that brought the terrorist leader down once and for all.
Bigelow’s hard-hitting offering, starring Jessica Chastain, Joel Edgerton, Edgar Ramirez, and Mark Strong, is out tomorrow (Fri).
