ONE of the most iconic, and sometimes controversial, figures of the past two decades, the tale of Princess Diana's life and death is being retold on the big screen.
So far the film, starring Naomi Watts as Diana, has been soundly panned by the critics.
Starting with the time leading up to Diana’s divorce, the film starts by focussing on her affair with Pakistani heart surgeon Hasnat Khan, played by Naveen Andrews (Lost).
A recently-divorced Diana dreams of a fresh start – but her high-profile life eventually proves too much, pushing her towards Dodi Fayed and that fateful night in Paris.
Based on the 2001 book Diana: Her Last Love, the film centres on her romantic interests and the glare of the media spotlight and, although it has failed to impress the experts, it is still likely to prove a draw for the millions around the globe still mourning Diana’s death.
Diana (12A) is out tomorrow (Fri).
