Fifty tales from Worle author
PUBLISHED: 11:00 02 August 2012
LOVE, horror, comedy, poetry and so much more are explored in the latest book by a Weston author.
Brian Humphreys has just released his third book, Fifty Coffee Break Short Stories With A Twist Or Two! and most of the tales within were inspired by fellow writers from the town.
Many of the stories were written in the past 12 months and were inspired by creative feedback from Mr Humphreys’ fellow scribes during writing sessions in Weston.
A wide range of genres will be explored – love stories, horror, comedy, plays, poetry, the odd murder, humour and a whole lot more all form part of the collection.
Mr Humphreys said: “We live in an age where it is much easier to get published and by sharing experiences with vanity publishing, print on demand, and Kindle publishing, those of us with experience can help new writers avoid many of the pitfalls.
“Why spend money on writing courses when you can attend a creative environment for free? If I can get published, anyone can.”
The sessions that inspired the stories were held by the Wordsmiths of Weston, who meet on the first Thursday of the month.
New and experienced poets, writers or playwrights are welcomed.
The next meeting will be held tonight (Thurs) at 7.30pm at 27 Taunton Road in Weston.
