A terrifying horror blockbuster which explores the afterlife through a series of scientific experiments has hit cinemas, and the Mercury has two pairs of tickets up for grabs.
Flatliners, boasting an all-star cast, is being shown at the Weston Odeon, in The Centre, and is sure to leave audiences flinching in their seats.
The film, which is a sequel to the 1990 film of the same name, centres on five medical students who are obsessed by the mystery of what lies beyond death.
In the original film, Nelson Wright – played by Kiefer Sutherland – survives a daring ordeal of experimental near-death experiences by the skin of his teeth, with some terrifying discoveries along the way.
And almost three decades on, five burgeoning scientists attempt the same procedure with the help of Dr Courtney Holmes – played by Ellen Page.
The daring procedure sees them stop their heart beats for a short space of time, giving them a firsthand experience of the afterlife.
But the experiments do not go to plan, and the medical students are riddled with side effects which mean secrets from the past re-emerge to haunt them.
And they soon find the paranormal consequences for trespassing in the afterlife.
Page is famous for her roles in the X-Men franchise, plus her performances in the critically-acclaimed films Inception and Juno.
Also starring are Diego Luna, Nina Dobrev, and James Norton while Sutherland too returns.
