A GROUP of authors took to the stage to delight audiences with extracts from their published works last week.

The Liminal, held at Dr Fox’s Tearoom on Knightstone Island hosted the three Weston authors as part of an event with parents’ group Weston-super-Mum.

June Bastable, of Stanley Road, Weston, read from her collection of short stories, Some People, which held the number two slot at Weston Waterstones chart for three weeks in 2011.

Emma Shortt, from Weston, spooked the audience with a
reading from Waking up Dead, the first in her series of five zombie books.

Gareth Powell of Clevedon, then read a chapter of his gripping
science fiction novel The
Recollection and his anthology of short stories, The Last Reef.

The Liminal will return to the café on February 18 from 7-10pm.
