WHAT was meant to be the trip of a lifetime develops into a nightmare for tourist Lucy.

The young American, played by Scarlett Johansson, is abducted in Taiwan and told by traffickers to be a mule and smuggle drugs into the United States.

The narcotic drugs, which were sewn into her stomach, leak into her bloodstream, producing unexpected supernatural results.

Lucy acquires incredible strength, astonishing telekinetic powers and an unmatched intellect, allowing her to turn the tables on her captors.

Professor Norman (Morgan Freeman) believes humans only use a tenth of their mental capacity but seeks to help Lucy before she taps into the full 100 per cent and puts herself and others in unthinkable danger.
