FROM the writer and producer of The Dark Knight comes Man of Steel, a similarly gritty re-imagining of the Superman franchise and easily the most eagerly anticipated film of 2013 so far.
Packed with action, suspense and drama delivered with a dose of realism running through its core, Man of Steel is out to prove it’s not just Batman who can make superheroes believable.
The story sees the super-powered alien known as Clark Kent brought to Earth from the dying planet of Krypton and raised as a human by his adoptive parents.
Kent begins to feel out of place as he realises the extent of his awesome powers.
But when the planet is attacked, it begins a transformation that sees him embrace his super-powers and become the hero we are all so familiar with thanks to the likes of the late Christopher Reeve.
From the director of 300 and Watchmen, Zack Snyder, the writer of The Dark Knight, David S. Goyer, and producer Christopher Nolan, famed for rebooting Batman, there’s as much superhero talent behind the scenes as there is in front of the camera.
Leading man Henry Cavill makes his blockbuster breakthrough here after appearing in hit TV series The Tudors, while Amy Adams (Catch Me If You Can, Enchanted) stars as Lois Lane.
Russell Crowe, Kevin Costner and Laurence Fishburne round out the stars peppered into the supporting roles.
Promising a heady mix of explosive action and a startling retelling of one of DC Comics’ hottest properties, Man of Steel smashes into cinemas in glorious 3D tomorrow (Fri).
