THE Odeon cinema in Weston is showing the first cinema event produced by the British Museum tomorrow (Tues).

The cinema will show the world premiere of Pompeii Live, which will allow viewers to see the exhibition from the comfort of their cinema seats.

The British Museum’s exhibition brings to life the Roman city which was lost under ash.

As well as learning more about the Vesuvius volcano and the story of the region, the museum has gone behind the scenes to put together films of Pompeii and Herculaneum today.

British Museum director Neil MacGregor introduces the exhibition, and Peter Snow and Bettany Hughes present.

It also features Mary Beard, Rachel de Thame, Giorgio Locatelli, Andrew Wallace-Hadrill and exhibition curator Paul Roberts.

The showing is at 7pm, and tickets are available from 0871 2244007 or visit: http://www.odeon.co.uk/fanatic/film_times/s141/Weston_super_Mare/
