SHAKESPEARE’S historical play Henry V returns to the stage to mark the 600th anniversary of the Battle of Agincourt.

Newly-crowned Henry is ruling over a nation in a state of unrest and is forced to leave his youth and inexperience behind.

In an attempt to unite his people and win glory for himself, he stakes his ancestral claim on land in France and prepares for war.

His campaign culminates at the Battle of Agincourt, where the hugely outnumbered English army triumph against the French.

It was a major victory in the Hundred Years War.

Alex Hassell returns to play the title character, having previously taken the part in Henry IV parts one and two.

The show, by the Royal Shakespeare Company, is being broadcast in cinemas live from Stratford-upon-Avon, William Shakespeare’s birthplace.

It will be screened at the Odeon in Weston on October 21 at 7pm.
