Cricketing royalty will gather at Weston's Grand Pier later this month.

An evening with Brian Rose and former players will be held on May 24 at 7.30pm.

The event marks the 40th anniversary of Somerset County Cricket Club's Gillette Cup Final victory over Northamptonshire, the first trophy win in their history.

Brian, Somerset's captain that season, will be reunited on stage with a number of other former players, including Sir Ian Botham, one of the greatest all-rounders in cricketing history, Vic Marks and Andy Caddick, while current Somerset star Peter Trego will compere the evening.

The night opens with a fish and chip supper before Brian and his fellow speakers take to the stage to present a fascinating insight into the golden age of Somerset Cricket Club.

Tickets, priced £20-200, are available at www.conciergeuk.co.uk or on 01934 646155.
