A WESTON woman has penned a novel – with a dark twist.

Extinction is not your run-of-the-mill romantic tome. It is an edgy thriller written from the point of view of a sociopath.

Its author Carol Anne Davis, aged 50, from South Ward, said: “I am very interested in psychology and people that make evil choices.

“The book is written from the perspective of a criminal and his potential victims.”

Ms Davis explained that when she was younger, she was never interested in typical fairy tales and developed a taste for true crime books at the age of 15, an interest which has fed into her work.

She added: “It’s not for the faint-hearted. If you are used to romance it is probably a step too far.

“I think people will like it. If they read it they will see that I know what I’m talking about and reflect more on human nature.”

Extinction is out now on Crème de la Crème publishing priced £11.99 in paperback, available via Amazon.co.uk
