Denzel Washington stars in a gripping new drama from Forrest Gump director Robert Zemeckis.
TOP Hollywood director Robert Zemeckis, responsible for global blockbusters Forrest Gump, Cast Away and Back To The Future, is the man behind this gripping new drama.
Denzel Washington stars as Whip Whitaker, a seasoned commercial airline pilot who miraculously crash lands his plane after a mid-air catastrophe, saving 98 of the 106 people on board.
He becomes an overnight sensation, but when a blood test taken on the night of the drama reveals he had alcohol in his system, Whip faces the prospect of life behind bars.
While the world begs to embrace him as a true American hero, Whip struggles to cope with the scrutiny of an investigation which brings into question his behaviour the night before the doomed flight.
The story resembles that of jumbo jet captain Robert Piche who, in 2001, made a fuel-less landing and became a hero, only to see journalists reveal past misdemeanours in public.
Flight (15) is Zemeckis’ first live action film for 13 years and also stars John Goodman, Don Cheadle and Melissa Leo. It is out tomorrow (Fri).
