BENEDICT Cumberbatch’s stage performance as Hamlet sold out in record time, but there is still a way to enjoy it, as it will be screened live at the Odeon cinema.

Cumberbatch has taken the title role in Shakespeare’s greatest tragedy, currently being performed at the Barbican theatre in London.

Hamlet is a young prince from Denmark compelled to avenge the death of his father, who is killed by his own brother Claudius.

To add insult to injury, Claudius marries Hamlet’s mother, and Denmark is preparing for an invasion by Norway.

National Theatre Live: Hamlet will be screened at the Odeon in Weston-super-Mare on October 15 at 7pm.

The Mercury has teamed up with the Odeon cinema to offer two pairs of tickets to the screening.

Usual Archant rules apply and the editor’s decision is final. By entering the competition you agree to be contacted by Archant.

The competition closes at 9am on Monday.
