THE Backyard Cinema will be screening Sense And Sensibility in the scenic surrounds of Glastonbury Abbey.

Kate Winslet and Emma Thompson star in the adaptation of Jane Austen’s classic novel.

The story follows the Dashwood sisters, who are left poor under inheritance rules when their rich father dies.

They are forced to seek financial security through marriage, and Hugh Grant and Alan Rickman star as their prospective suitors.

Emma Thompson wrote the screenplay for and acted in the film.

The film will be screened at Glastonbury Abbey on August 15, and gates open at 7pm.

Tickets, priced £6 for a child aged under 12, £8.50 for a child aged between 12 and 15 and £13 for an adult, are available from

The Mercury has teamed up with the Backyard Cinema to offer four pairs of tickets to the show.
