TIM Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas will be screened outdoors – and you can win tickets to the sold-out event.

The Backyard Cinema will show the classic animation at the Old Town Quarry in South Road in Weston-super-Mare.

It tells the story of Jack Skellington from Halloween Town, who has grown tired of the same old routine every year.

While wandering in the woods, he opens the portal to Christmas Town.

He quickly becomes obsessed with the festive holiday and decides to usurp Santa.

The stop-motion film was created with 227 puppets, and Jack Skellington had around 400 heads to create his range of expressions.

The film will be shown on October 31 at 4pm.

The Mercury has teamed up with the Odeon to offer four pairs of tickets to the screening.

Usual Archant rules apply and the editor’s decision is final.

By entering the competition you agree to be contacted by Archant.

The competition closes at 9am on October 26.
