ONE of the world's most famous struggles is depicted in this enthralling tale of Martin Luther King Jr's battle throughout the US civil rights campaign.

From the outside, Selma in the heart of Alabama, looked like any ordinary southern America town.

However in the spring of 1965, it stopped being ordinary.

Selma was an unlikely flashpoint but in the struggle for civil rights Martin Luther King Jr (David Oyelowo) raised a protest march against police brutality and racist governor George Wallace (Tim Roth).

The film depicts the raw emotion, the sheer drive in face of adversity as well as the man behind the legend.

Ava DuVemay’s drama, featuring a cast packed with British acting talent, has won many plaudits since its premiere.

* The Mercury has teamed up with The Odeon to offer two lucky readers the chance to win a pair of tickets to the film, which is released on February 6.
