Talk about paying for the sins of your ancestors. Imagine being abducted because of the precious memories of a distant relative.

Well that is the crux of Assassin’s Creed, based on the incredibly popular video game franchise, which hit cinemas this week.

The action-packed blockbuster stars Michael Fassbender, who plays a bartender abducted by a corporation because of his storied ancestry of assassins.

The corporation, Abstergo Industries, is the modern incarnation of the Templars – who for centuries rivalled the assassins in a quest for power.

Fassbender’s character, Callum Lynch, is taken back in time to the Spanish inquisition through a time machine called the Animus in a hunt for the secrets of the past.

The Mercury has teamed up with the Weston Odeon to offer three lucky readers the chance to win a pair of tickets to see Assassin’s Creed at a showing of your choice.
