A documentary charting the rise of one of the most popular bands on the planet will debut on the big screen next week, promising a fly-on-the-wall insight into their success.
Coldplay: A Head Full Of Dreams hits cinemas on Wednesday, and the Mercury has three pairs for tickets to give away to see the film in Weston.
Coldplay, fronted by Chris Martin, are one of the world’s best-selling bands, having performed sold-out headline sets at the likes of Glastonbury, Wembley Stadium and New York’s Madison Square Garden after bursting onto the scene in 2000 with a string of critically-acclaimed singles.
The band has managed to sell more than 100million records across the globe, with number-one albums like Parachutes, A Rush Of Blood To The Head and X&Y winning millions of fans across the globe.
The film features snippets from their best live performances, so fans can expect to hear the unmistakable tunes from their brimming back catalogue like Yellow, Viva La Vida and The Scientist.
The film, which shares the name of their seventh album, is directed by Mat Whitecross, who met the band’s members at university in London before the four-piece was even named Coldplay.
Whitecross, who also directed the 2016 Oasis documentary Supersonic, was given unprecedented access behind the scenes and captured the highs and lows of Coldplay over the years.
The Mercury has teamed up with Weston Odeon to offer three lucky readers the chance to win pair of tickets to see Coldplay: A Head Full Of Dreams perform on Wednesday at 8.15pm.
