An exciting third instalment in the Purge series has now hit the big screen and you could watch it for free in Weston-super-Mare, thanks to our competition.

Like in the previous films in the series, events are set on an annual ‘purge’ night, where all crime is legal, including murder.

The latest chapter, The Purge: Election Year, takes place during a presidential election. Riots are breaking out in Washington DC and there are only two days to go until the Purge.

Two years ago Leo Barnes managed to stop himself from committing a crime on purge night and this time he must go one better and protect Charlie Roan, who is running for president.

But will they both get through the night despite being targeted by people looking to commit unspeakable crimes?

Director James DeMonaco has returned for the most terrifying horror film of the American franchise yet.

The Mercury has teamed up with the Odeon in Weston to offer three lucky readers a pair of tickets to see the film.

The competition will close at 10am on September 2.

Usual Archant rules apply and the editor’s decision is final.
