One of this year's biggest movies is still showing on the big screen and this third X-Men instalment, reportedly one of the most expensive films ever made, is likely to be the last. For those of you who don't know, the X-Men is the name given to a superpowered group, led by Professor Charles Xavier and based at his school for gifted students. Their mission is to foster goodwill for mutants like themselves, in a world where some people are born with extraordinary powers, and many ordinary humans fear them for it.In The Last Stand, a cure is dramatically found to treat mutations. Lines are drawn amongst the X-Men, led by Xavier (Patrick Stewart), and the Brotherhood, a band of powerful mutants organised under Xavier's former ally, Magneto (Ian McKellen). As well as Stewart and McKellen, Hugh Jackman returns as Wolverine and Halle Berry reprises her role as Storm. In addition, look out for the likes of Kelsey Grammer, best known for his role in the comedy show Frasier, Famke Janssen and Rebecca Romijin, and Vinnie Jones - the former footballer taking on the persona of a mutant aptly named as Juggernaut! As the name suggests this is expected to be the final X-Men adventure although spin-offs are a distinct possibility.
