A ‘fun-filled’ weekend of music and entertainment has been planned by the organisers of Weston-super-Mare Pride to raise money and awareness for the celebration due to take place later in the year.

A series of acts will perform at Bar Cameo, in Walliscote Road, over the bank holiday weekend, and will culminate in X Factor act Freddy Parker announcing the full-line up for Pride, which will take place on July 29.

This weekend’s entertainment gets underway at Bar Cameo at 8pm on Friday, when the Lipinski brothers will perform.

Pride Has Got Talent will take place on Saturday at 9pm, hosted by Miss Beaver, and three winners will be able to perform at the full event in July. A quiz will be hosted at Bar Cameo on Sunday, at 8pm.

On Monday, Freddy Parker will be at the Visitor Information Centre at the Tropicana, in Marine Parade, at 3pm, along with the North Somerset Samba Band.

This weekend’s event is free, but donations are welcome.

A pride spokesman said: “It will be a fun-filled weekend, and we have some amazing acts supporting Weston Pride.

“This is also the last chance for people to buy early-bird tickets for Pride in July.”

Tickets can be bought for £3 at Bar Cameo. This year’s Pride will take place in Grove Park.
