An Irish poet and playwright will showcase his work in the South West.

Stephen James Smith will perform at Bath’s Chapel Arts, on Lower Borough Walls, on October 21 at 7.30pm.

Dublin-born Stephen has been central to the rise of the spoken word scene in Ireland in the past few years.

His poetry videos have amassed more than 2.5 million YouTube views.

He facilitates poetry workshops in schools around Ireland and is artist in residence with Dunamaise Arts Centre and Laois Arts Office.

Stephen has performed at high profile events and venues across the UK, such as at Electric Picnic, the London Palladium and the West Country’s very own Glastonbury Festival.

Schools across Ireland invite Stephen in to teach youngsters about the art of poetry and self expression through workshops.

Tickets, priced £12, are available at or on 01225 463362.
