EXPERIENCE the music of singer Eva Cassidy at The Playhouse.
Sarah-Jane Buckley, who played Kathy Barnes in Hollyoaks, takes a starring role in tracing the singer’s life from her humble beginnings to her death at the age of 33.
Eva Cassidy was a vocalist and guitarist who interpreted melodies from a wide range of genres, including jazz, blues, country and pop.
Sarah-Jane has spent years capturing the raw emotion and power of the iconic artist.
She said: “I wanted to bring her truly beautiful arrangements to life and also give the audience the sense of this fascinating woman.
“When I first heard Eva on Terry Wogan’s radio show, her voice stopped me in my tracks.
“Her vocal range and emotional effect was spellbinding and, like the rest of the country, I was hooked.”
The concert is a chance to hear more than 25 of her unique interpretations of well-known songs including Songbird, Fields Of Gold and Over The Rainbow.
Song Bird: The Music Of Eva Cassidy, will be performed at The Playhouse on March 6 at 7.30pm.
