Big band sound

PUBLISHED: 12:12 29 September 2011

THE sound of a big band is not often heard these days, so the
forthcoming appearance of North Somerset’s Mendip Swing at the Congresbury Memorial Hall is
exciting.

Tomorrow’s event will be a treat for all lovers of this type of music.

The 21-piece outfit, which has been receiving excellent reviews, will be playing a selection of music, including swing, dance, jazz and Latin, almost all of it from the 1940s.

The evening starts at 8pm and finishes at midnight and a bar will be provided. Listening, laughter and dancing are encouraged.

Entry by ration book ticket is £10 (trade your ration ticket for food).

For tickets log on to www.mendipswing.org.uk or call 07710 626704 or: 07564 665951.
